10 Inspiring Media Kits from Bloggers
Media kits.
Every blogger who wants to work with brands needs one: to have when a brand asks for one, to proactively pitch brands, and to respond to certain brand requests.
Hundreds of students have taken my course Media Kit Smash, where I walk you through making a media kit step-by-step, from what to say (in a way brands want to hear) to designing it professionally.
I pulled together ten of my favorites from past students to share with you! My favorite things about these media kits is that they all look different, even though they were all made from templates from my course.
If you've been stumped about how to make your media kit, have a look at these for inspiration and be sure to click “see the full media kit” underneath each one to download the PDF. (And grab the free checklist at the end!)
1. The Sweet Spot Blog
Corinna used the circles template from the course and really amped up the branding. It's bright, colorful, and full of useful information for brands.
2. Go Valley Kids
Amanda runs a hyperlocal blog and created an amazing media for potential advertisers and partners. I love how clean her media kit is and she lays out clear sponsorship opportunities for her site.
3. Scraps of My Geek Life
This is one eye-catching media kit! One of the tips I taught in class was to share your total social media reach and I love that she brought that front-and-center on her first page.
4. Kids on a Plane
Cheryl used the dotted line template to showcase your blog's awesomeness to potential partners. She used a good mix of brand logos and pictures of the various places she's traveled.
5. Mommy of Two Little Monkeys
Amanda does a great job of showcasing the content her readers like as well as give brands lots of samples of sponsored posts she's done in the past. (Blog is now named Mommity)
6. Cloudy with a Chance of Wine
Dani has some amazing testimonials (hint: SUPER important in a media kit) and her media kit highlights those well. She did a great job pulling her blog colors throughout the media kit. (Blog is now named Meraki Lane)
7. It Is a Keeper
If you haven't noticed, all of the media kits featured so far are 3 pages. That's the optimal number for most blogs (and in the course I give you one-page templates too to use in certain situations).
Christina needed more space so she made a great-looking 5-page media kit that gave her ample room to both show all the opportunities on her blog and highlight the great brands she's worked with.
8. Eat Picks
Kelly's site revolves around good food and she showcases it nicely in her media kit. In addition to the delicious pictures, she highlights her audience so that brands can align their target audience to hers and know she's the perfect fit.
9. My Life and Kids
You might know Anna as the instructor of the Blog Clarity course Pinning Perfect, but she's also a student! (that sounds like a cheesy commercial doesn't it?). Anyway, I love Anna's cheery, colorful media kit and how she laid out packages for potential partners.
10. MomPrepares
Erica's site MomPrepares has lots of contributors and I love how she chose to list them on page 1 and include a small headshot of them all too.
