Get Quick Blog Post Ideas with this Little Tool

Sometimes it’s hard to come up with things to write about (even if you know all the Content Brew secrets). That’s when something mindless comes in…

The 10-Minute Touch Up is a quick, weekly challenge to get you DOING, not just reading about doing. Consider it a way to touch up your blogging just 10 minutes at a time!

Challenge: Use Portent’s Content Idea Generator to come up with five new post ideas.

Why: Just to mix things up a little bit when it comes with blog post ideas. I mean, you wouldn’t want to RELY on this content idea generation for all your posts. But when you’re stuck? It can give you a jumpstart. Plus, it’s kind of fun to play around with, even if all the ideas don’t work.

How to Do It

1. Visit the Content Idea Generator.

2. Enter a subject.

You can start general or go specific. This subject will be used to generate a title idea for your post so keep that in mind.

3. Click the Arrow for your results.

Now you’re getting somewhere.

Don’t scoff if the idea isn’t perfect. Could you replace a word with another word to get a better idea? Could you keep the first part of the idea then change up the rest of it?

Here are a few the generator came up with.

Beauty

Ways Your Mother Lied to You About Beauty: That’s kinda fun, right? Maybe she said Skin So Soft was the key to youth or that you should just shave the extra hair on your face. I don’t even have a beauty blog and I’m already having fun with this one.

When Parenting Sends You Running for Cover: Oh, let me count the ways.

Twitter

7 Things Your Boss Expects You Know About Twitter: As is, this one wouldn’t work for THIS blog. But I could easily swap out “Your Boss” with “Brands” and it definitely has potential!

4. Click the refresh button to keep getting more ideas.

Or change up the subject and try some more.

I mean you could do this forever.

Let’s just get to five ideas you can use.
