Gift Ideas for Creative People
Is it too early for a gift guide? (Hint: the correct answer is NO.)
Last year I focused on bloggers and social media geeks. This year? Creative people (Hint: If you’re a blogger, you ARE creative.)
Creative people want pretty things and functional, pretty things. This gift guide is a mix of fun and practical (and sometimes both of them combined into a super duo of awesome). I don’t own any of these, but they’re all pretty much on my wish list.
This post contains affiliate links, which pretty much supports my love of coffee.
The 2014 Gift Guide for Creative People
1. Yellow Owl Workshop Eco-Friendly Corked Necklace in Color Wheel– $44.99
It’s. Just. So. Pretty.
2. Denik, Eye Candy, 100 Sheet Hardcover Notebook (5.25′ x 8.25′), Graph Paper $18
Because you need another notebook. No, really. You must be ready for an idea explosion at any bat time, any bat place.
3. Oh Dier Cloud Desk Storage– $65
Organize all that little crap scattered around on your desk. It’ll still be crap, but at least it will look prettier in these. You can choose from white, grey, or black felt lining.
4. Pantone Universe To-Go Cup, Emerald Green $17.62
I once made a joke to a fellow designer about a color and said the actual Pantone number instead of the color. That’s when I knew I was obsessed with Pantone colors (and completely nerdified too). So a coffee travel mug with Pantone 15-5641? Twist my arm!
5. Oh Dier Think Sign– $38
I love the idea of signs for a workspace, but some of them are SO CHEESY. Not so with this one. Lots of colors to choose from too.
6. Kelly Moore Songbird Camera/Tablet Bag (Cobalt) Includes Removable Padded Basket-$199
Got a DSLR? Better protect that bad boy. Keep it, your lenses, and all your extras nice and cozy with this gorgeous bag. When you click the link, scroll down and on the right you can see user images of the inside of the bag.
7. Ban.do Frills Earphones– $16
Who needs plain white earphones when you can have ones with polka dots and sunny yellow?
8. The Book of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks: A Celebration of Creative Punctuation– $11.96
Because “everyone” needs to laugh at the the grammar faux pas of others.
9. Day Designer Planner– $59
I’ve been stealthily researching planners off and on for months. I’m a digital girl in so many ways, except when planning my day-to day-work. This one looks perfect.
(Note: the previous one in the image was Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner. However I switched my recommendation because the Day Designer daily pages go from 5 am – 9. The Simplified Planner only goes from 7 – 7, which doesn’t fit my work lifestyle!)
10. She Got Out of Her Own Way Print– $20.75
How many times do we doubt our own creativity? Hang this somewhere you’ll see it often. It’s like an invisible nudge to just go for it.
